A recent study evaluated the long-term survival outcomes of esophagectomy with off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG) versus esophagectomy alone. Findings show no significant difference in disease-free survival (DFS) between the two groups; however, overall survival (OS) was lower in the combined surgery group. Key predictors of outcomes included tumor stage, length, coronary artery disease (CAD), and ejection fraction (EF). These results underscore the importance of thorough patient assessment and selection for combined procedures to optimize outcomes.
