A large study has shown that body weight and lifestyle can affect the risk of gallbladder cancer. Gallstones are a known risk, but this research looked at other factors.
People with higher body weight, especially around the waist, had a greater risk of gallbladder cancer. Weight gain, obesity, and a larger waist size were all linked to higher chances of getting this cancer.
Pregnancy history also seemed important. Women who had several children were more likely to develop gallbladder cancer. Infections in the bile ducts, which help with digestion, were another risk.
Education was found to be protective. People with higher education levels had a lower risk. This may be because education is connected to healthier habits and better medical care.
Doctors recommend keeping a healthy weight and staying active. Watching for signs of bile duct problems and knowing your family history can also help.
This research gives helpful guidance. Small steps toward better health can lower the risk of gallbladder cancer.
